Gerardo Alcántara (born February 4, 1980 in Mexico City ) is a former Mexican soccer player who mainly played in the defensive midfield and began working as a soccer coach after his active career.

career

Although Alcántara was under contract with his hometown club UNAM Pumas for most of his professional career , he only played one game (but this over the full distance) in the Mexican Primera División for its first team . The match, which took place on May 1, 2005, was lost at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario 0-2 against Monarcas Morelia .
