Gerd Hammes

Gerd Hammes (born July 16, 1933 in Wuppertal ) is a German composer .

He completed his studies at the Bergisches Landeskonservatorium in Wuppertal . First he became a trombonist at the theater, and later a studio musician. He also held this position during his six-year stay in the United States . When he returned from America, he was particularly committed as a composer to brass music.
