Gerd Hardach

Gerd Hardach (* 1941 in Essen ) is a German social and economic historian .

Life

Gerd Hardach studied social and economic sciences at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster , at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris and at the Free University of Berlin . In 1965 he graduated with a diploma and received his doctorate in 1968. He then worked as an economics assistant at the Technical University of Berlin and at the University of Regensburg . From 1972 to 2006 he was Professor of Social and Economic History at the University of Marburg , 1982 to 1984 visiting professor at the University of Tokyo and 1997 to 1998 at the Free University of Berlin.

Hardach is married and has three children.
