Gerd Hentschel

Gerd Hentschel (born July 15, 1953 in Hanover ) is a German Slavic scholar and professor of Slavic Philology at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg .

Life

Gerd Hentschel attended the Hölty-Gymnasium in Wunstorf , where he passed the Abitur in May 1972. After completing his military service, he studied Slavic linguistics and literature as well as English linguistics in Göttingen and completed his master's degree in 1981 . 1986 Hentschel was at the University of Göttingen to Dr. phil. PhD. 1993 followed the habilitation for Slavic Philology (linguistics) also at the University of Göttingen. Since April 1993 he has been a full professor of Slavic Philology at the University of Oldenburg.
