Gerd Waschbusch

Gerd Waschbusch (* 1959 in Saarlouis ) is a German economist and professor at Saarland University .

Since 2010 he has held the chair for business administration , in particular banking studies, and since 2009 director of the Institute for Banks and SME Financing eV, Saarbrücken (IfBM).

Life

From 1980 to 1985, Waschbusch studied business administration at Saarland University and obtained the degree of "Diplom-Kaufmann". From 1983 to 1985 he was a fellow of the Cusanuswerk . From 1985 to 1994 and 1996 to 2001 he was a research associate and assistant at the chair for business administration, in particular banking management at the Saarland University. In 1992 he obtained his doctorate in economics (Dr. rer. Oec.) With an overall grade of summa cum laude. From 1994 to 1996 he was a substitute professor for business administration with a focus on accounting at the University of Kaiserslautern. In 1998 he completed his habilitation in Saarbrücken and received the venia legendi for general business administration.

In 2001 he was offered a professorship for general business administration with a special focus on accounting / controlling and finance at the WHL Wissenschaftliche Hochschule Lahr , where he also held the rector's office between 2001 and 2003. In 2003 he accepted a professorship for business administration, in particular accounting and finance, at Saarland University. In 2010 he switched to the professorship for business administration, in particular banking management at the Saarland University.

Gerd Waschbusch has also been director of the Institute for Banks and SME Financing eV (IfBM) in Saarbrücken since 2009. He has been a member of the SME Advisory Board of the Saarland state government since 2014. Since April 2015 he has also been the director of studies at both the Administration and Business Academy Saarland e. V. (VWA Saarland) as well as the Academy for Work and Social Affairs of Saarland (AfAS). He also teaches at the Allensbach University in Konstanz. He is a member of several academic societies and committees.

The research focus of Waschbusch lies in the areas of bank accounting, banking supervision, bank marketing, international accounting and SME financing. He is the author of numerous books, essays and articles in compilations in the areas of accounting, finance, cost accounting and other areas.
