Gerd Wirth

Gerd Wirth (born December 21, 1951 in Lüdenscheid ) is a German politician of the SPD .

education and profession

After completing secondary school in 1966, Gerd Wirth completed a toolmaker's apprenticeship, which he completed with a skilled worker certificate. He obtained his technical college entrance qualification in 1973. From 1975 to 1978 he took a degree in social work at the University of Applied Sciences Hagen, which he completed as a graduate social worker. Gerd Wirth is the managing director of the SPD sub-district Märkischer Kreis.

Wirth has been a member of the SPD since 1975. He is a member of the city council of Meinerzhagen and chairman of the SPD parliamentary group.

Gerd Wirth was a directly elected member of the 11th , 12th and 13th state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia from May 31, 1990 to June 2, 2005 in the Märkischer Kreis III state electoral district . There he acted as transport policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group and was deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group.
