Gerhard Bundschuh

Gerhard Paul Bundschuh (* 1933 in Hennickendorf ) is a German doctor , university professor and author .

Life

Bundschuh completed an apprenticeship as a toolmaker after completing the village elementary school in his place of birth , then graduated from ABF Berlin and then studied medicine at Humboldt University .

In 1960, he began his training as a specialist in forensic medicine at the Institute for Forensic Medicine at the Charité . In the same year he was promoted to Dr. med. doctorate and habilitation six years later at the same institute . From 1968 to 1972 he worked as a scientific advisor in setting up an immunological institute in the Hospital Nacional of the University of Havana . After his return, the Department for Clinical and Experimental Immunology at the Charité was established under his leadership , from which today's Institute for Medical Immunology (IMI) emerged with over 100 employees and is headed by one of his former doctoral students. He was awarded a university professorship in 1994. By the time he retired in 1998, he had published twelve scientific book titles and over 100 specialist publications. It describes some of the serum protein components he discovered, as well as the immunosuppressive plasma microns, necessary for the reproductive process and occurring in ejaculates , the follicle contents and other body fluids as well as released from tumor cells .
