Gerhard Castendyk

Gerhard Castendyk (born September 23, 1769 in Bremen ; † November 23, 1801 ibid) was a lawyer and Bremen senator .

biography

Castendyk was the son of the businessman Bruno Castendyk (1736–1774) and his wife Catharina (1746–1835) and brother of Senator Bruno Castendyk .

He was married to the preacher's daughter Catharina Smidt (1775-1827); both had four children.

Like his brother, he attended a private school, from 1787 the Illustre high school in Bremen and from 1789 studied law at the University of Göttingen . In Göttingen he received his doctorate in 1792. jur.
He then worked as a lawyer .

From 1798 to 1801 (†) he was the successor of Jacob Breul's Bremen councilor / senator.
