Gerhard Hillmayr
Gerhard Hillmayr (* 1948 in Reutlingen ) is a German watercolorist , illustrator and graphic designer .
Life
From 1971 to 1976 Gerhard Hillmayr studied illustration and graphic design in Vancouver , became a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and exhibited his works in various galleries in Canada in the following years . Since his return to Germany in 1980 he has been working as a freelance watercolorist, illustrator and graphic designer. He teaches as a lecturer in painting seminars and has published 17 books on the subject of watercolor painting in the English publishing house . He lives with his family in Mochenwangen (Upper Swabia).
Gerhard Hillmayr has exhibited his pictures in galleries and public exhibitions internationally since 1976. a. in Canada, the USA , Germany and Switzerland . His work has received several awards, including a. with the Maxwell Award (1978), at the “American Artist National Art Competition” in New York (1978) and with the “Annual Art Competition Award” from Illustrator magazine in Minneapolis (1984/85 and 1988/89).
