Gerhard Huckenholz

Hans Gerhard Huckenholz (* 1930 ; † November 29, 1998 ) was a German petrologist . He was a professor at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich (LMU).

Huckenholz received his doctorate in 1958 with Hilmar Schumann at the Technical University of Dresden with a thesis on sediment petrographic investigations on rocks of the Tanner Grauwacke near Straßberg in the Selketal of the Lower Harz Mountains. He moved to the FRG, took over the chair for mineralogy and petrography at the LMU in 1969 and retired there in September 1998.
