Hans Jürgen Rösler

Hans Jürgen Rösler (* May 14, 1920 in Braschen / Crossen district , today Brzóska; † January 12, 2009 in Freiberg ) was a German professor of mineralogy and author of various publications and textbooks as key international publications such as the "Geochemical Tables" and the " Textbook of Mineralogy “.

From 1959 he was head of the chair for geochemistry and mineralogy at the Bergakademie Freiberg . Rösler developed and shaped the Institute for Mineralogy under the conditions in the GDR and made the institute a world-famous address. In 1981 Rösler became a full member of the Saxon Academy of Sciences in Leipzig , and in 1985 he became an honorary senator of the Freiberg Mining Academy . In 1986 he was honored with the Serge von Bubnoff Medal . On 26 November 2010 dedicated his institute an honorary colloquium around the mineralogy . On October 11, 1996 he was awarded the Kurt Schwabe Prize .
