Gerhard I. von Sinzig

Gerhard I. von Sinzig († 1237 ) was a ministerial under the German kings who founded the castle-counts line on the Reichsburg Landskron .

Life

In 1207 Gerhard was mentioned for the first time in the entourage of King Philip of Swabia . After his assassination Otto IV , who had taken over the kingship, transferred the further construction of the Reichsburg Landskron in 1208 back to the burgrave Gerhard. Otto's successor, the Staufer Friedrich II , took over Gerhard in the burgrave office.

1216 grasped by Gerhard I. The Viscount of Landskron in Treasury Sinzig foot as Procurator of the Emperor Frederick II. 1219 Gerhard villicus ( mayor called Sinzig), 1231 as baiolus ( bailiff called).

In 1226 King Heinrich VII transferred the patronage rights of the church in Königsfeld to Gerhard I on behalf of his father Friedrich II . The income of the Königsfeld Church was connected with this.

Descendants

The sons of the male burgrave line received the same first name five times in a row, whereby not the year of birth, but only the dates of the respective first mentions and the dates of death can be determined: Gerhard II. (1238–1273), Gerhard III. (1276–1296), Gerhard IV. (1298–1369) and Gerhard V. (1333–1344).
