Gerhard Jentschke

Gerhard Jentschke (* 1955 ) is a German church musician and organist.

Musical career and education

Gerhard Jentschke studied school music with the state examination as well as church music with the A-examination at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz . He then deepened his organ studies at the Musikhochschule Heidelberg-Mannheim in the master class with Leo Krämer with the degree of artistic maturity and in master courses with Nicolas Kynaston (London), André Fleury (Paris) and Flor Peeters (Mechelen).

He took part in national and international competitions in interpretation and improvisation and was awarded several prizes (organ competition of the cultural group of the BDI in Ottobeuren, Nuremberg International Organ Week, Wiesbaden Bach Competition / Interpretation and Improvisation). Concert engagements followed, including a. a. also two world premieres.

In 1998 he made a recording of works by Max Reger , Sigfrid Karg-Elert , Flor Peeters and Charles-Marie Widor on the Rieger organ of the Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche in Zweibrücken .

Professional

Gerhard Jentschke is a church musician at the Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche in Zweibrücken and a full-time lecturer at the Kaiserslautern branch of the Episcopal Church Music Institute (BKI) of the Diocese of Speyer. Previously, he taught the organ at the Peter Cornelius Conservatory in Mainz.
