Gerhard Lorth (born November 15, 1944 in Heidelberg ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 2000 to 2010 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

After graduating from high school, Lorth trained as an administrative clerk in local government in 1959. From 1964 to 1966 he then did 18-month basic military service in the German Armed Forces. After all, he worked as an employee and civil servant in the All-German Ministry, from 1969 in the Ministry for Internal German Relations. Since the reunification of Germany, he has been a senior official in the Federal Ministry of the Interior. He has been on leave since he entered the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia in 2000.

Lorth has been a member of the CDU since 1968. From 1969 to 1974 he was on the board of the Junge Union in Bonn-Hardtberg, of which he was chairman from 1972 to 1974. From 1996 to 2002 he was a member of the CDU district committee in Bonn. From 1975 to 2000 he represented his party in the Bonn City Council and from 1975 to 2008 in the Bonn-Hardtberg district council. From 1984 to 2008 he was district chairman of the Hardtberg district of Bonn . From 1984 to January 31, 2001 he was a member of the Rhineland Regional Assembly. Since 1989 he has been a member of the Cologne District Planning Council, where he was chairman of the CDU group from 1994 to 1999. From January 2000 to March 31, 2001, Lorth served as the chairman of the district planning council. Since April 1, 2001 he has been a member of the Cologne Regional Council and the Lignite Committee . Since January 2000 he has been chairman of the Cologne Regional Council. Since June 2000 (then constituency Bonn III, 2005 Bonn II ) he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia, where he was a full member of the Committee on Building and Transport and the Committee on Local Policy and Administrative Structural Reform. He is no longer a member of the state parliament elected in 2010.
