Hardtberg is one of the four districts of the federal city of Bonn with 34,195 inhabitants (December 31, 2018). It was formed in 1969 in the course of the municipal reorganization from the districts of Duisdorf , Hardthöhe and Lengsdorf , which until then belonged to the Duisdorf office . The new housing estate Brüser Berg was added in 1974 as a fourth district, Medinghoven is a non-official district belonging to Duisdorf in the west of the city district. The Hardthöhe district takes up almost the entire site of the Federal Ministry of Defense , which has its headquarters there. Hardtberg is named after the eponymous, 156.1  m above sea level. NHN lying mountain, which lies in the west of the city district.

In addition to the Federal Ministry of Defense, Hardtberg is the location of the Federal Agriculture , Federal Health , Federal Economics and the Federal Family Ministry .

Hardtberg has had a partnership with the French city ​​of Villemomble since 1967 .

The CDU and the Greens have signed a coalition agreement for the 2014 to 2020 electoral period. In the constituent meeting of the Hardtberg District Council in June 2014, District Mayor Petra Thorand (CDU) was re-elected for a further term.

In the east of the city district, the 565 federal motorway runs with the Bonn-Lengsdorf (8) and Bonn-Hardtberg (9) junctions. The Konrad-Adenauer-Damm, a motorway-like road, runs along the Hardtberg and is part of Bonn's north-west bypass. The Federal Highway 56 runs west Hardt Berg, where the route which Voreifelbahn with the breakpoint Bonn-Duisdorf is.

A long-term plan is a tram line from Bonn's main train station to Hardthöhe ( Westbahn ), which will partially replace the existing bus connections.

The Hardtberg town hall is located in Duisdorf.

The city district has seven primary and secondary schools, three special schools, two secondary schools, two grammar schools as well as a vocational college ( Rhein-Sieg district ) and a branch of the adult education center of the federal city of Bonn.

The Hardtberghalle is located in the district of Brüser Berg and was the venue for the home games of Telekom Baskets Bonn until 2008 . The new home of Telekom Baskets Bonn has been the club's own " Telekom Dome " below the Brüser Berg in the Duisdorf district since summer 2008 .

The TKSV Duisdorf struggling since the 2010/2011 season back in the 1. Bundesliga.

The Hardtbergbad in the Hardtberg district is the highest pool in Bonn and the only combined indoor and outdoor pool in the city.
