Godesberg-Nord is the official name of a district in the Bad Godesberg district of the federal city of Bonn . Surrounded by the other Bad Godesberg districts of Schweinheim in the south-west, Friesdorf in the north-west, Plittersdorf in the north-east and Alt-Godesberg in the south-east, around 1,800 people live there. In the northeast, the border with Plittersdorf forms the route of the Left Rhine route .
description
The common name for Bad Godesberg-Nord is "Bendel". Originally built on an old arm of the Rhine, the residential development is essentially limited to the area along the border with Schweinheim, halfway up the slope to Bad Godesberg Castle Hill . The buildings mainly consisted of workers' and company apartments from the companies located nearby (e.g. Kleutgen & Meier , Schiller'sche Patentverschluß or the Faßbender wallpaper factory ). In the second half of the 20th century, they were largely in the form of apartment blocks renewed. The social structure of the district shows a great contrast to Alt-Godesberg , which made a name for itself as a health resort , and also to the other districts of Bad Godesberg that were later incorporated.
The largest part of Bad Godesberg-Nord's industrial and commercial area , recently has increasingly moved hypermarkets on. In the center of the district there is a sports field, which is available as part of the current 2006 development concept of the city of Bonn. The focus as an industrial and trading area is then to be expanded.
