Medinghoven in Bonn

Medinghoven is a residential area of Bonn in the Duisdorf district of the Hardtberg district , which is characterized by a residential area in the multi-storey building that was built in the 1970s. There are also numerous single-family houses and condominiums. In the main statute of the federal city of Bonn, it is not shown as an official district, but is a statistical district with a population of 4514 (as of December 31, 2018).

General

Due to the relocation of the seat of government to Berlin (1999/2000), the population structure of Medinghoven has gradually changed. Numerous federal employees left the district and more migrants were arriving.

The Diakonisches Werk is represented with a district office in Medinghoven, which offers social counseling as well as various group and educational events.

The district borders on the Alfter district of Nettekoven. In the north of the district is Medinghoven Castle and in the west is the Malteser Hospital.

There are four schools in Medinghoven: The Medinghoven primary school, the Margot Barnard Realschule Bonn, the Queen Juliana School (special school with a focus on intellectual development) and the Derletalschule (special school).

Medinghoven has its own small "row of shops" in which u. a. a pizza delivery service, a kiosk, a fruit and vegetable dealer and a bistro are located.

With an area of ​​1.2 km², Medinghoven belongs to the Duisdorf district of Bonn. There are currently 13 playgrounds and football fields in Medinghoven (as of June 2007), the most famous of which is at the Medinghoven playhouse on Stresemannstrasse in the south.
