Theater in the basement (Bonn)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The tik - theater im keller is an amateur theater with its own stage in Bonn .

history

The theater emerged from a course at the Volkshochschule Bonn at the end of the 1960s and over the years has developed into a theater company with regular performances. Plays by authors such as Ayckbourn , Arabal and Handke , Wilder , Dorst , Fo and Williams as well as numerous children's plays, street theater , cabaret and cabaret programs went over the two stages in Bonn's Duisdorf district in 35 years .

In 2004 the theater had to close due to water damage. Since the city of Bonn was no longer able to grant subsidies, the tik became an independent sponsor in spring 2005 and has since been financed by entrance fees, membership fees and donations.

ensemble

The ensemble des tik consists of around 50 volunteer actors, employees and technicians who are organized in a sponsoring association.

Work and performances

The tik is run by a non-profit association (eV) as a private theater . In addition to guest performances, five to six own productions are shown in around 45 performances every year. In December 2007, the company's 100th performance, “Moving Times - A German Revelation of the Century” was performed.
