The Bonn-Duisdorf train station is on the Voreifelbahn Bonn - Euskirchen in the Bonn district of Duisdorf . Since 2003 it is no longer operationally a train station and only serves as a stop for passenger traffic . The stop is operated by DB Station & Service , which classifies it in station category 6 .
history
Together with the opening of the line, a train station was set up on June 7, 1880 in Duisdorf, which was then still an independent town . The by architect John Jodocus' Judge designed reception building of the station was built between 1878 and 1879th It was identical to the ones in Odendorf and Kuchenheim . From 1921 to 1922, the station was expanded to double-track analogously to the line, but the line between Duisdorf and Kottenforst was rebuilt to one track as early as 1959 . Until 1965, a continuous express train ran from Aachen via Euskirchen to Bonn .
In 1971 the station was renamed "Bonn-Duisdorf" after the incorporation of Duisdorf.
In 1978 the station building was completely demolished. After the track systems had already been significantly reduced in size in previous years, a major renovation took place in 2002/2003: the Bonn-Duisdorf stop was expanded to double-track with side platforms. With the completion of the work, the station was downgraded from the train station to the breakpoint with a transfer point . The transfer point to the single-track section towards Witterschlick, which was located directly to the west of the stop, was removed in December 2014 as part of the double-track expansion of the line. The facilities and tracks for cargo handling are no longer available.
Service offer
On the Voreifelbahn in inverted rail transport the train-line S 23 . The tariff of the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg (VRS) applies and the NRW tariff applies to all tariff areas .

Furnishing
The stop has two validators , a DB ticket machine and two dynamic text displays for passenger information. The two side platforms are 165 meters long and 76 centimeters high.
On the forecourt there are parking spaces for cars ( P&R spaces) and bicycles , as well as a taxi stand . A public toilet and a kiosk are also located on the forecourt. There are no other service facilities.
Signal boxes
There used to be two signal boxes in Duisdorf . While the "Do" signal box built in 1940 was demolished after the renovation work was completed in 2003, the building of the former "Df" dispatcher signal box, built in 1953, still exists west of the station. From there the signals and the switch of the transfer point as well as some level crossings were operated. It is a mechanical interlocking of the standard design. In September 2011, the tasks of the mechanical interlocking were taken over by the Euskirchen electronic interlocking . Since the interlocking "Df" in terms of technology and style is typical of his time, it was in 2010 by the lower monument authority of the City of Bonn as a monument under monument protection provided. DB, as the owner, filed a lawsuit against this, but lost the legal dispute.
