Gerhard May

Gerhard Mai (born August 30, 1957 in Heinsberg ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

After graduating from high school in 1977 and doing alternative civilian service , Mai studied German and sports in Kiel , Frankfurt am Main and Aachen . After that he was employed as a teacher at the police school in Linnich .

Mai was councilor of the city of Heinsberg from 1984 to 1987. From 1990 to 1999 he was a member of the eleventh and twelfth state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia . He entered the state parliament via the state list of his party. He resigned from the state parliament on May 2, 1999 and became office manager of the North Rhine-Westphalian Minister for Building and Housing.
