Gerhard Matthäus Wallacher

Gerhard Matthäus Wallacher (born October 12, 1744 in Frankfurt am Main ; † November 24, 1806 there ) was a Frankfurt lawyer and politician.

Wallacher studied law from April 20, 1762 at the University of Tübingen , from October 27, 1765 at the University of Göttingen and from April 9, 1767 at the University of Gießen , and was awarded a doctorate in Gießen. jur. PhD. In 1767 he became a lawyer in Frankfurt. In the legal dispute over the Alte Häringshock he represented the building authority as advocatus fisci . Goethe's uncle Johann Jost Textor was the lawyer for the other side . Wallacher married Maria Susanne nee Schmid in 1775, 1750–1817.

On October 1, 1784 he became a member of the council of the imperial city of Frankfurt. From 1800 to 1801 he was the junior mayor. In 1802 he was promoted to aldermen.

He was a Freemason in the Frankfurt Lodge for Unity.
