Gerhard Miksa (born November 3, 1935 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

In 1956, Gerhard Miksa moved from FC Schalke 04 to 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the Oberliga Südwest . He made his debut at Lautern on the sixth game day, September 30, 1956, 7-1 home win against FV Speyer, as a right defender in the Southwest Football League . His colleague in defense was Karl Schmidt . The "Red Devils" ended the round on April 28, 1957 with a 12: 6 home win against TuS Neuendorf and celebrated the championship in the southwest with an eight point lead over 1. FC Saarbrücken. Miksa had played in 18 league games and scored two goals. In the final round of the German championship, he was used in the final game on June 16, 1957 in Augsburg against Kickers Offenbach (1: 4). In the previous games against Hertha BSC (14: 1) and Borussia Dortmund (2: 3), Werner Baßler was preferred to him. In his second round, 1957/58, it was enough for Kaiserslautern to be runner-up. In the two qualifying games for the final round of the German soccer championship on April 19 and 20, 1958 in Frankfurt against 1. FC Cologne, Miksa was always in action as the left wing runner. At FCK he played with Fritz Walter for three years , but the great years of the "Walter Elf" were already over. In 1961 he reached the DFB Cup final with his team (0-2 against Werder Bremen ). In 1963, just in time for the introduction of the Bundesliga, after six years the FCK was again the Southwest German champions. His tenth and last league game in the 1962/63 series he completed on February 3, 1963, in a 5-2 home win in front of 23,000 spectators against FK Pirmasens. Wolfgang Schnarr was in goal and Miksa and Willi Kostrewa formed the defender pair .

In 1963 he left the FCK as a sports invalid.

Today he still lives with his wife in Kaiserslautern within sight of the Betzenberg.
