Gerhard Poppendiecker

Gerhard Poppendiecker (born December 26, 1937 in Heiligenhafen , Ostholstein district ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

After graduating from school, Poppendiecker attended post office school, became a civil servant at the Deutsche Bundespost and worked as a social worker. In 1952 he became a member of the German Postal Union (since 2001 in ver.di ).

In 1966 he joined the SPD, where he was chairman of the Heiligenhafen local association from 1970 to 1999. From 1970 to 1990 he was a member of the city ​​council of Heiligenhafen, from 1974 to 1986 he was an honorary official of the city. The council he was one of Ostholstein 1976-1988 and was 1979-1987 County Council .

In 1987 he was elected to the Landtag of Schleswig-Holstein in the Oldenburg constituency. He also won the direct mandate of the constituency in 1988, 1992, 1996 and 2000. He held the mandate until 2005. Popp Diecker belonged to a variety of committees, including the Pallas - committee of inquiry 1999/2000. From 2000 to 2005 he was chairman of the submission committee . He was a member of the state electoral committee, the Low German Advisory Board and the committee for municipal investment funds.

In 2001 Poppendiecker was re-elected to the Heiligenhafen city council.

Poppendiecker is married and has two children.
