Gerhard Sachs
Gerhard Walter Sachs (born December 25, 1923 in Mülsen St. Niclas ; † September 15, 1996 in Plauen ) was the Lord Mayor of Plauen.
Life
Gerhard Sachs was born in Mülsen St. Niclas in 1923 as the son of Karl Walter Sachs and his wife Minna Johanna, b. Oelschlägel was born. He was a member of the SED . From 1949 to 1957 he was a school inspector in Chemnitz . He then worked from 1958 to 1961 as a district school councilor in Auerbach . From 1961 to 1970 Sachs was chairman of the district council in Auerbach. From 1970 he was Lord Mayor of Plauen . In 1981 he had to resign from this office for health reasons.
He was with Elfriede geb. Sternkopf married, with whom he had two children.
Honors
Among other awards, he received the GDR Patriotic Order of Merit in gold in 1983 .
