Gerhard Schüßler (politician)
Gerhard Schüßler (born October 2, 1937 in Holzwickede ; † November 7, 2005 ) was a German politician ( FDP ).
Life
After completing school (secondary school leaving certificate), training as a wholesale merchant and completing military service, Schüßler worked as a self-employed wholesale merchant.
In 1961 Schüßler became a member of the FDP. From 1967 to 1979 and from 1990 to 1998 he was chairman of the Hagen district association , in 1980 he became a member of the district board and from 1994 to 1998 he was also a member of the state board. From 1969 to 1984 Schüßler sat on the city council of Hagen, where he was parliamentary group chairman from 1978. From 1979 to 1984 he was also mayor of the city of Hagen. From 1990 to 1994 and again from 1998 to 2002 he was a member of the German Bundestag .
