Gerhard Seewann

Gerhard Seewann (* 1944 ) is a German historian and philosopher .

Life

After studying history and philosophy in Graz , Gerhard Seewann initially worked in the archive of the German youth movement at Ludwigstein Castle and at the University of Munich . In 1980 he took over the management of the library of the Southeast Institute in Munich. Here he supervised numerous projects on minority research, with his own focus on Hungary . At the beginning of 2007, Seewann took over the newly established endowed professorship for the history of the Germans in south-eastern Central Europe at the University of Pécs , where he taught until 2015.
