Gerhard Steen
Gerhard Steen (born May 17, 1923 in Ahrensbök ; † January 28, 1990 in Nörtershausen ) was a German politician ( SPD ).
Life and work
After elementary school, Steen completed a commercial apprenticeship by 1941. He was then a soldier in the Navy in World War II . From 1946 to 1951 he worked in the public service.
politics
Steen joined the SPD in 1948. In 1951 he was employed by the SPD district of Rhineland / Hessen-Nassau. From 1959 he was managing director of the SPD for the administrative districts of Koblenz, Montabaur and Trier. From 1963 to 1979 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . There he was vice-president of the state parliament from 1969 until he left parliament in 1979.
