Gerhard von Essen

Gerhard von Essen (born March 6, 1932 in Bednarken , Osterode district in East Prussia ; † July 12, 2002 in Luckenwalde ) was a German Protestant clergyman and politician ( SPD ). From 1990 to 1995 he was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives and previously of the (East) Berlin City Council.

Gerhard von Essen studied Protestant theology and was pastor of the St. Petri Church in Luckenwalde from 1961 to 1975, then at the Revelation Church in Berlin-Friedrichshain . Since 1997 he has been living in Luckenwalde again in retirement.

In 1990 von Essen received a direct mandate in the constituency of Friedrichshain 3 ( Boxhagener Strasse , Grünberger Strasse) for the SPD in the Berlin House of Representatives, which he held until 1995.
