Gerhardus Petrus Jooste
Gerhardus Petrus Jooste (born May 5, 1904 in Winburg ; † 1990 ) was a South African diplomat .
Life
Gerhardus Petrus Jooste was the son of Sofie Visser and Nicolaas Jooste, studied at Gray College in Bloemfontein and became a civil servant in 1924. From 1929 to 1934 he was private secretary to the finance minister Nicolaas Havenga and married Anna van Zyl van der Merwe in 1934. In 1942 he obtained a master's degree in political science from the University of Pretoria with the thesis Die administrasie van die mandaat vir Suidwes-Afrika .
