Germán Valdés

Germán Genaro Cipriano Gómez Valdés Castillo (born September 19, 1915 in Mexico City , † June 27, 1973 ibid.), Known as Tin Tan , was a Mexican actor.

Live and act

Valdés grew up in Ciudad Juarez and worked there for the local radio. He came to Mexico City with the impresario Paco Miller and got a small role in René Cardona's film Hotel de Verano in 1943 . The following year he worked in the Mexican-American production Song of Mexico and then made five films with director Humberto Gómez Landero . His breakthrough as a comedian was in Gilberto Martínez Solares ' film Calabacitas tiernas (1949).

He then worked with great Mexican comedians such as Marcelo Chávez , Famie Kauffmann and José René Ruiz Martínez ( Tun Tun ) and starred in the classic Mexican film También de dolor se canta alongside Pedro Infante . In the 1960s he achieved convincing performances as a voice actor in the Disney productions The Jungle Book and The Aristocats .

Valdés had eight siblings. His brothers Ramón Valdés and Manuel Valdés ( El Loco ) were also known as comedians. The latter was the father of the singer Cristian Castro . His daughter Rosalía Valdés also became known as a singer in the 1980s.
