German Business Aviation Association

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Business Aviation Association e. V. (GBAA) is an interest group within the Federation of German Industries (BDI), which is committed to promoting the economic, political and legal issues of business aviation , company air traffic and non-scheduled commercial air traffic .

Although the members of the association are general aviation companies according to the definition of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) , they distinguish themselves in particular from recreational aviation , which is mainly operated with single-engine aircraft for recreational or sporting purposes.

The GBAA began in 1970 as a business aviation working group in the BDI, but in 1985 it changed into the association that still exists today. It is a member of the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) based in Brussels and the global umbrella organization International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) based in Montreal at the ICAO .

The chairman is Peter Gatz ( Private Wings GmbH ), his deputies are Steffen Merz ( Schwäbisch Hall-Hessental Airfield ) and Frank Kusserow (Jet Aviation Services GmbH).
