The European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) is a non-profit organization and is the trade association for companies active in business aviation , with its headquarters in Brussels , Belgium .

history

The association was founded in 1977 by the industrialist Frits Philips in the Netherlands as the International Business Aviation Association . The headquarters were relocated to Brussels in 1984 and renamed the European Business Aviation Association . The association has more than 500 members from the aviation industry.

tasks

The EBAA represents the aviation industry, among other things, towards the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in matters such as the Single European Sky and emissions trading .

IBAC

The EBAA is a founding member of the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC), based in Montreal in the Canadian province of Québec , which has represented the interests of its members towards the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) since 1981. The International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) was drafted together with the IBAC and its members and presented to the public for the first time at EBACE in 2002. The IS-BAO serves to create a common, professional and safe environment for the operation of aircraft.

EBACE

The European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition has been held every year on the Palexpo site near Geneva since 2000 . EBACE is organized by the EBAA and the US National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), and this aviation trade fair is only open to trade visitors .
