German Borissowitsch Chan ( Russian Герман Борисович Хан ; born October 26, 1962 in Kiev ) is a Russian entrepreneur .

Life

Chan comes from a Jewish family. He studied at the Moscow Institute of Steel . In 1989 he founded the “Alexandrina” cooperative , which specialized in tailoring . In early 1998 he became vice chairman and first vice president of the Tyumen Oil Company . After the shares of TOC were completely sold to Rosneft in March 2013 , he left the group and in June of the same year took over the management of the company L1 Energy at Alfa-Group , which, among other things, realizes investments in the oil and gas sector.

In 1997 he founded the Russian company Alfa Group together with Michail Fridman and Alexei Kuzmichev .

According to US Forbes Magazine , Chan is one of the richest Russians . Chan lives in Moscow, is married and has several children.
