Gernot Grumbach (born September 16, 1952 in Sprendlingen ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 2001 to 2019 he was chairman of the SPD Hessen-Süd and deputy chairman of the SPD Hessen and has been a member of the Hessian state parliament since 2003 .

Life

Grumbach joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany in 1971, the year he graduated from high school. The study of German and politics from 1971 to 1979 was followed by a legal clerkship from 1981 to 1983 and from 1983 to 1991 a job at the company Grumbach Apotheken-Abrechnungen. From 1991 to 1995 Grumbach was parliamentary advisor in the Hessian Ministry for Regional Development, Housing, Agriculture, Forests and Nature Conservation, from 1995 to 1999 parliamentary and Federal Council advisor in the Hessian Ministry for Science and Art. From 1999 to 2003 Grumbach was head of department at the Hessian State Center for Political Education . In the state elections in 2003 , he entered the Hessian state parliament for the first time . In the state elections in 2008 he won the direct mandate in the constituency of Frankfurt am Main II , but lost it again in the early state elections in 2009 and entered the state parliament via the state list . In the 2013 state elections and the 2018 state elections , he entered the state parliament again via the state list.

Grumbach was chairman of Jusos Hessen-Süd from 1981 to 1984 and chairman of Jusos Hessen from 1983 to 1987. From 1985 to 2019 he was a member of the board of the SPD Hessen-Süd, from 1992 as deputy chairman and from 2001 as chairman. From 2001 to 2019 he was deputy chairman of the SPD Hessen , from 2003 to 2011 a member of the SPD party executive and from 2007 to 2013 chairman of the SPD Frankfurt am Main.
