The GEROF Point is a headland on the west coast of the Antarctic Ross Island . It is located at the southern end of Backdoor Bay and about 1 km southeast of Cape Royds .
The New Zealand Geographic Board named it in 2012 after the Russian Dmitri Girew (1888–1932, alternative spelling Gerof ), dog sled driver on the Terra Nova expedition (1910–1913) of the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott .
