Gerrit Hoss (born May 21, 1980 in Itzehoe ) is a German musician , author and presenter. He lives in Münsterdorf and Hamburg .

Career

In 2004 Gerrit Hoss went to Munich to study guitar at the A-Team Music Academy. There he was for a few years as a guitarist with the band Nordlicht and was involved in the original version of the debut CD "Mob & Thieves". Some of the songs were recorded and produced by Reamonn guitarist Uwe Bossert in Munich. With that the band even made it to number 1 on the Delta Radio Indicator Charts.

During his studies in Munich he took guitar lessons at a music school and made his first appearances as a street musician in Munich, Hamburg and Berlin. In 2008 he moved back to Hamburg, where he began to write the songs for his first solo album, “The next time”, which was released in 2010. At the same time, he completed vocal training with Karin Ploog in Hamburg and completed the "contact study program in popular music" at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater. The second CD, "Notstrom", was released in 2012 and, like its predecessor, was able to achieve success with airplays on several radio stations.

At the same time as working on “Notstrom” Gerrit Hoss started working for NDR, where he can now be heard as the author of the series “Hör mal n prayen to” or as a presenter (port concert at NDR 90.3). The Low German language is also the special feature of the third CD, "PLATT!", Which was released in 2015. Some of the songs made it onto the radio even before the album was released. Since then, Gerrit Hoss can be seen and heard regularly on TV and radio. He is also on the road at Low German poetry slams and a jury member for “Scholkinners leest platt”. Gerrit Hoss is also the author of the specialist magazines "guitar" and "Soundcheck" and runs his own studio in the north of Hamburg.

In 2016 Gerrit Hoss won the Fritz Reuter Music Prize of the City of Stavenhagen, as well as the Low German Music Prize of the City of Bad Bevensen.
