Gerrit Winter (lawyer)

Gerrit Winter (born February 22, 1935 in Gotha ) is a German insurance lawyer and retired university professor.

Life

Julius Winter's son attended the Max-Planck-Gymnasium (Göttingen) . After graduating from high school, he studied law at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg and the Georg August University of Göttingen . He was awarded a Dr. iur. doctorate and habilitation there. During his studies he became a member of the Corps Makaria-Guestphalia Würzburg , Teutonia-Hecynia Göttingen and Budissa Leipzig zu Passau . In 1977 he was appointed to the chair for civil law , insurance law and comparative law at the University of Hamburg . At the Hamburg Center for Insurance Science , he headed the Insurance Science Association (alternating annually with Manfred Werber ) until 2006. Winter was committed to the LL.M. -Degree in Insurance Law. He retired on June 8, 2007 at the age of 72 . Since then he has worked as emeritus and co-program director at the seminar for insurance science at the University of Hamburg for the part-time LL.M. degree in insurance law.
