Gert Jeremias (born April 3, 1936 in Göttingen ; † August 12, 2016 in Tübingen ) was a German New Testament scholar.

Gert Jeremias, a son of Joachim Jeremias , received his doctorate in 1961 in Heidelberg with a dissertation on the " teacher of justice " as a doctor of theology. The Cologne Judaist Johann Maier called the work a “standard work”: “To this day, this book serves as a basis for every serious discussion of this topic and remains authoritative in its essential contents, not least in the text interpretation.” Jeremias has been teaching since 1975 as a professor for new things Will at the University of Marburg and since 1983 as professor for the New Testament at the University of Tübingen . Together with Hartmut Stegemann , he published a commemorative publication for Karl Georg Kuhn in 1971 .
