Gert Schnider

Gert Schnider (born April 9, 1979 in Graz ) is an Austrian professional multi-talented board player, including chess ( international master ), Go (5th Dan) and Shogi (5th Dan in Japan = 3rd Dan in Europe ) and a grandmaster of the abalone .

He became world champion of the abalone and 2000 world champion of the decamentathlon at the Thinking Sport Olympiad in 1999 and 2000 - until today (2017) he is the only non-English-speaking participant who has achieved this overall title.

In 2000 he organized the First International Austrian Shogi Championship.

He lives in Graz as a state-certified chess trainer (A-trainer).
