Gertrud Goes

Gertrud Goes (born Staehle * November 25, 1878 in Löwenstein ; † December 30, 1915 in Engelsbrand ) was a German poet and storyteller .

Life

Gertrud Goes, born in November 1878 in Löwenstein, Baden-Württemberg as Gertrud Staehle, had lived with pastor Martin Goes in Engelsbrand near Pforzheim with her husband since 1913, where she died on December 30, 1915 at the early age of 37 January 1916 was also buried there.

Shortly before her death, she published a book Poems and Stories From Light and Shadow After Her Death, her Heilbronn publisher Eugen Salzer published a second edition of the poetry volume in 1916 and, a year later, in 1917, further stories by Gertrud with the book In earthen vessels Goes, which in 1918 was also well received in the Central Literary Journal for Germany . In addition, works by her appeared in the calendar for Swabian literature and art in 1917 under the title Von Schwäbischer Scholle .
