Gertrud Kruger

Gertrud Krüger (born July 23, 1904 in Magdeburg , † December 18, 1996 in Nuremberg ) was a German politician of the SPD .

After attending primary school in Magdeburg, Krüger worked as a shoe worker, and at times as a housewife. In 1918 she started as a volunteer union official and later took part in several adult education courses. In 1927 she was promoted to works council. From 1931 she attended a course at the national folk high school in Tinz (now part of Gera ). In 1932 she moved to the Heimann shoe factory in Nuremberg , later she was employed by the Medicus company , which was bombed out in 1944. In the following year she was a member of the works council again, she also became chairman of the Nuremberg District Women's Committee, and she was also a member of the DGB regional women's committee .

Krüger, who joined the SPD in 1926, sat in the Bavarian state parliament from 1950 to 1966 . In these, she was always elected directly in a Nuremberg constituency.
