Gertrude Spieß
Gertrude skewer (* 1. October 1947 in Eisenstadt as Gertrude Schneider ) is a former Austrian school teacher and politician ( SPÖ ). Spieß is married and was a member of the Burgenland Landtag from 1991 to 2000 .
Spieß was born as the daughter of the employee Eugen Schneider from Eisenstadt and attended the local grammar school after elementary school in Eisenstadt. After graduating from high school in 1965, Spieß was a secondary school teacher at the Mattersburg secondary school until 1985 and then worked at the Federal Pedagogical Institute for Burgenland. Since 1970 Spieß was a functionary of the SPÖ. She was a local councilor from 1977 to 1992 and then from 1991 to 1992 town councilor in Mattersburg, from 1972 she was women's chairwoman of Mattersburg and from 1982 SPÖ district women's chairwoman in Mattersburg. Between 1987 and 1990, Spieß also held the function of SPÖ education chairman and represented the SPÖ in the state parliament from January 24, 1991 to December 28, 2000. From 1998 Spieß was also chairwoman of the SPÖ women in Burgenland and deputy chairwoman of the state party.
