The Gertrudenkapelle in Büderich was built in 1968 by the St. Petri Bachelors Shooting Brotherhood . It was consecrated on June 29, 1969.

The chapel , which bears the patronage of Saint Gertrud von Nivelles , was built in memory of the Gertrudenthal monastery in Alt-Büderich. It also serves as an altar of Corpus Christi . The monastery Gertrudenthal was founded around 1460, which was united around 1470 by Augustinian and in the second half of the 16th century with the outside convent of Mariengeist until it was abolished in 1802 under Napoléonian rule. The St. Pankratius Chapel in Gest is reminiscent of the Mariengeist monastery .

In 2012, the Gertrudenkapelle was supplemented by a free-standing small bell tower, in which the bell of the neighboring house Marien has found a new place.
