Gertrudenkloster

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gertrudenkloster are called numerous monasteries.

Historical monasteries are usually named after St.  Gertrud von Nivelles (626–659), abbess of the Nivelles monastery in Belgium. She was a Benedictine , hence the name is common for Benedictine abbeys. In addition, there are also names after St.  Gertrud von Helfta (1256–1301 / 2), a nun in the Helfta monastery near Eisleben, who was a Cistercian and in modern times is accepted for patronage.
