Protected landscape component of field trees on the lead ground

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The protected landscape component of field trees on lead ground with an area of 0.45  ha is located north of Leitmar in the urban area of Marsberg . The area was designated in 2008 with the Marsberg landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis as a protected landscape component (LB). The LB is surrounded by the Rotes Land nature reserve . The LB consists of two sub-areas.

description

The landscape plan explains the LB: “The two-part property consists of a grove-like stock of hornbeam and red beech trees in the north and a hedge rich in shrub species in the southern part. The herbaceous layer of the wood contains several species of a typical beech forest community, but also many fault indicators. On its eastern edge there is a large agricultural warehouse. The hedge in the southwest is noticeable for its numerous field maple overhangs. Their total width of up to 15 m is divided by an unpaved driveway, which continues in the west as an herb fringe to the near edge of the forest. In the northern part there are some old piles of reading stones that are now almost completely overgrown. Overall, the LB has a structuring and invigorating effect on the landscape and acts as a stepping stone biotope between the closed forest areas in the Pohlmannsberg area and the Obermarsberger Stadtwald. "

Protection purpose

The designation as LB took place:

  • To maintain, develop or restore the efficiency and functionality of the natural balance
  • For revitalizing, structuring or maintaining the townscape and landscape
  • To ward off harmful effects

Like the other LBs in the landscape plan area, the LB represents an outstanding habitat for the ecological performance of the natural balance and also serves as an element that structures and animates the landscape. The designation serves to ward off real or potential harmful effects through the removal of plants, relief or water changes, etc.
