The protected landscape component source region Elftertbach with 0.39  hectares is located southeast of Altenfeld in the urban area of Winterberg . The area was designated as a protected landscape component (LB) in 2008 when the Winterberg landscape plan was drawn up by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis . The LB is surrounded in the north and northeast by the landscape protection area Bödefelder Mulde (Winterberg) and otherwise by the landscape protection area Winterberg .

Area description

It is the source region with seepage springs of the Elftertbach in Ebental, which is located in a wet grassland fallow full of rushes. The source region is largely a legally protected biotope according to § 30 BNatSchG .
