Protected landscape component Schmeltersknapp

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The protected landscape component Schmeltersknapp with an area size of 1.28  ha is located northwest of Rösenbeck in the urban area of Brilon . The area was designated as a protected landscape component (LB) in 2001 with the Hoppecketal landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis . The LB is surrounded by the nature reserve Brilon plateau .

description

The landscape plan explains the LB: “The property forms a structurally rich biotope mosaic made up of trees and shrubs, lean pasture grass and rock cliffs of the Central Devonian mass limestone. Both shrub and herb layers are rich in species. Larger open spaces, which are, however, impaired in places by deposits of organic material, exist in particular on the north side; here partially a Christmas tree culture protrudes. The open spaces have their greatest value for species and biotope protection with extensive grassland use. If this is abandoned, the natural development of the open spaces comes closest to the structural richness of the rest of the LB, as the succession stages (also due to the species inventory in the immediate vicinity) will have a great diversity of species, which is not achieved with afforestation - even with locally appropriate hardwood becomes. In addition, the natural succession also leaves open the possibility of carrying out maintenance measures on a contractual basis at intervals of approx. 5 years, which would be most beneficial to the preservation of the existing biotope mosaic. "

Protection purpose

The landscape plan documents the protection purpose: "Parts of nature and landscape are defined as protected landscape components, insofar as their special protection a) to ensure the efficiency of the natural balance, b) to revitalize, structure or maintain the townscape and landscape or c) to ward off harmful Actions is required. In certain areas, protection can extend to the entire stock of trees, hedges or other landscape elements. "

To prohibitions listed in the landscape plan: "After § 34 4 LG is the elimination of a protected landscape component and any actions that may lead to the destruction, damage or alteration of the protected landscape component prohibited.."

With the landscape plan, the commandment was issued: "The protected landscape components are to be preserved through appropriate maintenance measures, as long as the effort required is justified in consideration of their respective importance for nature and landscape."
