Area description
On the western edge of a nameless side valley of the Schweimecke lies a narrow stand of beech trees. In the center of the beeches there is a tunnel opening from an old ore mine tunnel. The tunnel area is a legally protected biotope according to § 30 BNatSchG , since the tunnel has a potential significance as winter quarters for various animal species groups, especially bats. According to the landscape plan, the LB represents an invigorating landscape element.
