The protected landscape component of orchards in the Aspe with an area of 0.66  hectares is located southwest of Brilon . The protected area was designated as a protected landscape component (LB) in 2008 with the Brilon plateau landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis . He is one of 38 LBs in the urban area of Brilon. Area description

The protected landscape component is a meadow orchard in a dry valley. At the time of the designation in 2008 there were 25 trees of different apple varieties. There is a large oak tree in the east. The fruit trees were in a poor state of care when they were expelled. The meadow is grazed. As an additional development measure, the landscape plan states that the fruit trees must be cut regularly and lost trees replaced.

Protection purpose

The LB was designated because of its regional and scenic importance. It is a protected area, a culturally stressed and natural part of the landscape, which with its independent character clearly differs from the surrounding forest and field landscape. The landscape plan states: “The special protection of these small structures is necessary because of their prominent position for the efficiency of the natural balance and / or for the attractiveness of the landscape. The LB determination takes into account the landscape significance of the objects, which it sets out above the "normal" landscape inventory of an LSG. "
