Protected landscape component Walbecke-Quellbach

The protected landscape component Walbecke-Quellbach with a size of 1.28  ha is located south of Walbecke in the urban area of Schmallenberg . The area was designated as a protected landscape component (LB) in 1993 with the Schmallenberg Southeast landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis .

The LB is surrounded in the forest by the Schmallenberg Southeast landscape protection area. In the grassland, the LB is surrounded by the nature reserve Walbecketal south of Walbecke and partly the nature reserve Feuchtgrünland on the Walbecke .

Area description

The protected part of the landscape Walbecke-Quellbach is the Walbecke brook with the bank area from the source to the hamlet of Walbecke. An open area in the forest is part of the protected area. In the forest, the stream is surrounded by natural beech forest. The beech forest is partly rich in ferns.

Protection purpose

Protected object, which, according to the landscape plan, clearly differs in its independent character from the surrounding forest and field landscape.
